SoCal Tech News 1/14/13 Logo-Start-Engine-2StartEngine, the startup accelerator founded by Howard Marks, the co-founder of Activision, is expanding, saying that it is opening up a new location in downtown Los Angeles. The accelerator--which has its first space in Westwood--said it is opening up a new office at 1010 Wilshire Blvd with TENTEN Wilshire, to provide startups with space and opportunities for growth across Los Angeles.

The accelerator is the first one to target the downtown area with an 1010 wilshire pooloffice location. StartEngine said the new office is a split-level loft, with access to such locations as the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and a few metro stops from Pasadena. StartEngine announced the new location in an invitation to an opening event January 15th for its mentors and companies. StartEngine offers up mentoring, funding, and a program to help early stage startups get to the next level, and is one of a number of accelerator programs which have been active in the Los Angeles area over the last year or so.
