The Arts District’s $80 million open-air shopping center and office complex, At Mateo, is nearly complete, construction photos from early June show.

Tenants (one of which is insta-food company Soylent) are building out their spaces in the development, and the project is expected to formally open sometime this fall.

At Mateo will house almost 125,000 square feet of retail and restaurants and about 50,000 square feet of creative office space within it’s brick-covered warehouse-style buildings. Cobblestoned pedestrian paths will cut through the project, and industrial-chic windows will appear throughout.

The whole development is intended to fit in seamlessly among the actual industrial buildings in the neighborhood that have been converted into creative offices and mixed-use complexes.

At Mateo was first announced in 2014, when the site was home to five visually unremarkable warehouses. Developers ASB Real Estate Investment paid $32.5 million for the property.

The Arts District is still going full-steam ahead in terms of development, with some of its biggest and most high-profile projects announced within the last year.
